NeNe Leakes may have just thrown some shade in the direction of departing housewife Shereé Whitfield and rumored to be axed “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore.
On Monday, July 30, Leakes posted a meme that read, “Street code 101: never bite the hand that feeds you.”
She backed up the message by writing, “It speaks VOLUMES about your character! Basically, you’re saying 🖕🏾you and that’s how you get F’d up👊🏾 just sayin’ what the streets said🤷🏾♀️😂 #streettalk #respectthecode #dontshootthemessanger.”
Amid recent news that Whitfield is not returning for season 11 and Moore is having issues cementing her return to the show, many fans wondered if Leakes was referencing one of the two ladies.
“Well……what else did the streets say? Did they say a name? Or two? Hmmmm.”
“@sunshinecarolga – probably Shereé.”
“@visionarylife She might be talking to Kenya, but Kenya not losing no sleep or dollars from not being on the show. Kenya was paid before RHOA. LOL.”
However, Leakes explicitly shut down speculation that she was talking about Moore.
“@swthnylmb get off my page dummy! I post messages all the time now all of a sudden, this abt Kenya 🙄 oh by way, I didn’t know Kenya and I had a problem.”
Whitfield confirmed on an Instagram Story Q&A that she wasn’t fired but “declined” an offer to become a friend of RHOA.
“Currently living my best life,” she said when asked if she was coming back next season. “Was not interested in entertaining the low ball offer that was sent. Know ur worth.”
Moore, meanwhile, tweeted at fans the decision about her time on the show is “not up to me.” She also said she “was never offered a friend role, just friend [money] to do the same job and show family and baby story.”
The married mother-to-be added that while there hasn’t been any progress in negotiations, she “has options just in case.”
