Michelle Williams Says ‘I’m Better’ After Checking Into Mental Health Facility

Destiny’s Child” group member Michelle Williams shared an update on her mental health status and well-being to fans on Friday after seeking help.

The star has been candid about her battle with depression and recently sought aid from health professionals. The 37-year-old let her supporters know on Twitter that she was doing better and making progress.

Williams posted on her Twitter account, “Progress not Perfection ❤!” She later added on her Instagram story with the prayer hands, “I feel the [love]! I just wanted to let you guys know I’m better.”

Fans responded to the “Stand Up for Love” singer’s message and sent her an abundance of support.

“A queen. Rooting for your continued success 💕,” one fan wrote.

“Sending all my love to you Michelle. It’s okay not to be okay. You’re so strong, I hope you be fine and really happy enjoying your life,” another added.

So heart warming to see you acknowledge the issue and seek help vs sweeping things under the rug like many often do. Sending prayers up for you as you get through and heal,” a Twitter user wrote.

Williams reportedly checked herself into a treatment center for depression according to TMZ. Moments before doing so, she posted a personal memo to her following about obtaining help for her mental disorder.

“For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing,” the star explained. “I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals.”

Fellow celebrities and music artists wrote words of encouragement to Williams. Solange Knowles commented on the star’s Twitter post, “Love u so Michelle… Really proud of you. Sending u all the love in the world.”

Rapper Missy Elliot tweeted, “I want to lift our sis up in prayer because there are so many people battling this & many trying to deal with it alone 😔 Please No jokes this is REAL & as human beings let’s keep the ones who are openly dealing with it uplifted & be encouraging to them!”

Williams reunited with her group “Destiny’s Child” in April at Coachella. It was the first time the group performed together in many years.
