Floyd Mayweather swindled a Nigerian media company for a substantial amount of money. At least that’s what Zinni Media alleged, and they’re suing the boxer for restitution.
According to the suit, in June of last year, Mayweather agreed to make 5 appearances in Nigeria and Ghana for $375,000.
He then recorded a video to solidify the dates, which Zinni took as further confirmation that everything was in place. The company even sent Mayweather a $210,000 advance as part of the agreement.
But for some reason, just days before he was supposed to arrive, the undefeated fighter backed out of the deal and never gave the advance back.
Instead, Mayweather said he’d reschedule the dates and would add more appearances, which the company agreed to. The catch, however, was his price would be changed to $550,000, which Zinni also said was okay. Plus, the company said they were told the $210,000 advance could be used towards the new fee.
But when Mayweather was asked to make another video to confirm the new deal he didn’t, nor did he return the advance, so Zinni sued him for $2 million.
Meanwhile, Mayweather recently posted a photo of a new diamond-encrusted watch called The Billionaire Watch, made by Jacob & Co., which he purchased for $18 million.
Reportedly, it’s made of 18-carat white gold, has 260 carats of emerald-cut diamonds and each individual stone is about 1.5 carats.
“This my new timepiece, it’s called The Billionaire Watch,” wrote Mayweather. “If you don’t know about it, google Billionaire Watch. That’s $18 million on the price tag.”
At this time, he hasn’t said anything about the Zinni Media lawsuit and as of now, a court date hasn’t been set.
