“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Peter Thomas seems to be gearing up for pal Apollo Nida to come back home following the latter’s imprisonment for money laundering.

“My dude is getting ready to come HOME @apollonida03,” Thomas captioned an image shared from Nida’s Instagram page on Tuesday, June 12.

The post got several folks talking about Nida getting out of prison after serving half of his sentence.

“Whoop whoop bout time and he needs to get [back] on RHOA.”

“Really?!?!? Yea that sounds good. ‘The Real Ex Husbands of Atlanta.'”

“Am I the only person that can care less about another snitch coming home?”

“That negro ain’t getting out no time soon! 😂😂😂”

In 2014 Nida was sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for a $2.3 million money laundering scheme. The aftermath was covered on RHOA, including how his estranged wife Phaedra Parks handled the changes with the former couple’s two young children.

And while several RHOA stars began taking sides, it seemed Thomas was always backing Nida until the latter put the former Mr. Cynthia Bailey on blast in December 2015.

“CRAZY WORLD RIGHT!! I GUESS IT’s TRUE THAT IN TIME ONE WILL SEE WHOM THEIR FAKE FRIENDS REALLY ARE!!”

He later elaborated on what the cryptic post meant in a message shared by his team.

“Overall Apollo said he respects Peter’s drive & business sense, but overall Apollo states he is just a little hurt because it’s been well over a year and he hasn’t heard from Peter Thomas and Apollo thought they were boys and Peter had his back and would stay down,” the IG post said. “Apollo said the relationship was never fake on his part so what’s the issue with allowing everyone to know how he feels. Apollo says his & Peter Thomas’s friendship started with you all watching, so Apollo doesn’t mind letting you all know how he feels.”

“Wow!! Fake friend, never that, my number hasn’t [sic] change,” Peter wrote in an Instagram post of his own in response. “Still holding it down for everyone I love, including you my brother.”

However, Bailey confirmed to Bravo that the duo had patched things up via phone a few days later. And on season 9 of RHOA, Thomas helped introduce Nida’s fiancée to the housewives, showing the buddies are firmly in one another’s good graces.

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
