Kim Kardashian recently spoke with CNN’s Van Jones about her meeting with Donald Trump that got Alice Marie Johnson released from prison.
Johnson, who’s 63 and a great-grandmother, spent over 20 years behind bars on a non-violent drug trafficking offense and many have been fighting for her freedom.
One of the questions that Jones asked Kim, was if she felt Trump used her as a “political pawn,” and if her meeting with the president gave him legitimacy among his detractors.
“I think Kanye has already given him legitimacy in that way,” she answered. “I was working on this before. I don’t think I would be used. At the end of the day, he heard me out. We got the job done. So what could he really use me for?”
It didn’t take long for the Twittersphere to react to Kim’s comment about her husband making Trump relevant.
That’s because many said they’ve walked away from the Chicago rapper for his support of Trump, as well as his recent theory that slavery was a choice for Black people.
“They don’t even have legitimacy themselves,” one person tweeted. “So HTF are they going to legitimize the clown in the White House?”
“This woman is crazy, as if Kanye is someone who is legitimate himself,” another person wrote. “What a waste of an interview. Nobody listens to either one of them.”
Meanwhile, West just released his joint album with on and off collaborator Kid Cudi, and it’s already getting outstanding reviews. In fact, some publications have already deemed it a classic.
But whether the new LP, as well as the rapper’s “Ye” album, will be supported by Black folks in large numbers remains to be seen.
You can read some of the comments about that statement below.

How? When Kanye has no “Legitimacy?” And YOU, who are you? Since we’re talking, “legitimacy,”

You have got to be joking! She came on the scene because of a sex tape with her x-boyfriend, where is she different from Stormy Daniels?
