Tiffany Haddish isn’t going to spill any more details on Beyoncé and who bit her after signing an NDA, but the comedian is giving an update on the status of her relationship with the singer.
In March, Haddish detailed a story of Beyoncé attending a Jay-Z concert afterparty when an actress came and bit Bey in the face.
“‘She gonna get her ass beat tonight,'” Haddish recalled to GQ of what she told Bey after the incident. “She was like, ‘Tiffany, no. Don’t do that. That b—- is on drugs. She not even drunk. The b—- is on drugs. She not like that all the time. Just chill.’”
Theories abounded about just which Hollywood starlet got so up close and personal with the “Hold Up” singer. Fans speculated it was everyone from Lena Dunham to Sanaa Lathan, who denied responsibility.
Months later, the dust has settled and Haddish says no harm was done between her and Bey.
“I didn’t think it was going to blow up like that,” Haddish told People magazine at Turner’s upfronts presentation Wednesday, May 17.
“We’ve talked since then, and it’s been cool,” the actress added. “Nobody’s trippin’ except for everybody else.”
That “everybody else” she could be referring to may include Bey’s stepdad, actor Richard Lawson. He angrily told People in April that everyone should “drop it.”
“Tiffany just took advantage of a moment … [and] tried to move the needle for her own thing,” he said. “It’s a bunch of crap. There’s nothing to it.”
