White People Are All In Their Feelings About Kendrick Lamar’s Pulitzer Prize Win

Compton bred rapper Kendrick Lamar made history as the first rapper to ever win a Pulitzer Prize in music with his platinum album “DAMN” and it’s driving white people out of their minds.

The “Humble” rapper’s record was the first hip-hop piece that was neither non-classical or jazz that won the reputable award. After The Pulitzer board announced his win on Monday, they named the album “a virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life.”

Lamar proudly responded with the Twitter caption, “I came, I saw, I conquered / No shame, I blame all of this on Compton,” his lyrics from the song  “The Heart, Pt. 3 (Will You Let it Die).” Fans were elated with the rapper’s win while others called it “ridiculous”.

Naysayers came out in full force in an attempt to diminish the Compton rapper’s accomplishment. According to one Twitter user, the Pulitzer Prize lost its luster since Obama won….except Obama never won a Pulitzer, he won the Nobel Peace prize in 2009.

However, fans quickly clapped back and defended the rapper’s win and blasted folks for their racial bias.
