Real Housewives of Atlanta star, NeNe Leakes, opened up about working with President Trump on “The Apprentice” and the immediate “connection” the pair made upon their first meeting.
During a recent sit down with “TV One,” Leakes talked about her initial reaction when asked to join “Celebrity Apprentice.” She originally dismissed the idea because of her lack of business knowledge but decided to go through with the commitment. The reality star reminisced on meeting Donald Trump for the first time and admitted there was a relatable vibe between the two. “I know he’s taking a lot of heat these days,” she said. “I gotta say when Donald Trump and I met… We had a little bit of a connection, like kinda cool connection… I’m not jumping up and down that he’s the president of the United States, but I must say that he had a side to him that was pretty cool.”
The Bravo star said she worked with Trump every day and respected him as her boss. She told “TV One,” that his presidential candidacy didn’t shock her at all.
“I remember saying to him [Trump] probably every three days ‘Can you fire me today?’ and he would always say ‘You’re not going anywhere,” she laughed. “I wasn’t surprised when Donald ran for president because he always said he wanted to run for president… Nobody knew it would come true.”
