A famous New York City subway singer has made some headway in achieving his dream. Mike Yung, who famously appeared on “America’s Got Talent,” announced on Twitter Monday, March 19 that he has been picked up by an agent to begin booking performances.
“I have been picked up by @paradigmagency which just won booking agency of the year. They will be helping me book shows,” he posted in a tweet accompanying a video of him performing Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.” “This couldn’t be possible without you guys. THANK YOU. I will be announcing my first NYC show soon. NEVER GIVE UP 💪🏾

Fans in the clip recognized him from his time on NBC’s talent competition, on which Yung appeared during season 12 last year. The 58-year-old has been performing at subways since he was 20-years-old and stunned the crowd with his rendition of the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody.”
Yung stayed in the competition until the semifinals, when he was eliminated in week 1. But that hasn’t slowed him down. Ahead of his agency signing, Yung, who was initially signed to RCA Records at 14-years-old, launched a Kickstarter to raise money for his debut album, titled “Never Give Up.”
He’s raised $67,000 to make his decades-long dream a reality.
And this week, many have been applauding him for his agency signing.
