Mo’Nique’s heated “The Breakfast Club” interview continues to make headlines and many have continued to discuss whether or not the comic deserves more than $500,000 for a Netflix special.
As one listener caught the Friday, Feb. 23 interview, they tweeted that if new comedy star Tiffany Haddish scores a Netflix deal making Amy Schumer’s reported $11 million. then credit should be given to Mo’Nique.
“If @TiffanyHaddish gets a multimillion @netflix deal at the level of @amyschumer it’s because @moworldwide stood up🤷🏾♀️#facts #TheBreakfastClub,” tweeted @AphroditeYoung.
But as Haddish pointed out, she already secured a Netflix deal, although it’s not for a comedy special, it’s an animated comedy series called “Tuca & Bertie.” It comes on the heels of her Showtime special, “Tiffany Haddish: She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood!”
“I already got a deal and I signed it way before she said a thing and it’s not legend money but its enough to take care of my family for [minute]. #Facts.”
In response, Mo’Nique backed up the “Girls Trip” star, praising her for paving a way for young Black girls behind her.
“You’ve done nothing wrong my sister,” the “Queens of Comedy” star tweeted. “You KEEP SHINING! I am proud of you. You keep doing what your [sic] doing. You are making it better for the next ones. Luv u 2 life.”
