LeBron James’ political commentary may not have sat well with a Fox News anchor, but that doesn’t mean he’s completely lacking support.

After “The Ingraham Angle” host Laura Ingraham said the Cleveland Cavaliers forward should “shut up and dribble,” Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long raced to his defense.

James was critical of President Donald Trump on “Rolling with the Champion” Thursday, Feb. 15 saying, the Commander-in-Cheif “really don’t give a f— about the people.”

That led Ingraham to criticise James saying, “it’s always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball” and that he should “keep the political commentary to yourself.”

“They use to try and hide it,” Wade tweeted Friday, Feb. 16 of Ingraham’s remarks. “Now the president has given everyone the courage to live their truths.”

Long had a lengthier response, tweeting a thread of celebrities who have discussed their Republican-leaning political views on Fox News. They included director/actor Clint Eastwood, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock to name a few.

“I’m sure the network she works for has interviewed a bunch of athletes, just couldn’t find the screenshots quickly,” Long tweeted Friday. “The point is, what’s the prerequisite for who can talk politics? So, Fox News folks who agree with Laura… you okay with these segments?”

He added, “And if you reply ‘stick to sports,’ you should probably tune off out Fox News because they’ve got karate guys talking climate change on there. (Which I’m cool with… it’s his right.) Unless it’s just about you needing to feel like you’ve got control of athletes like LeBron.”
