Rep. Maxine Waters,(D-Calif) didn’t bite her tongue while making remarks during the first episode of Angela Rye’s new talk show on BET. Waters refuted a number of President Donald Trumps points made during his State of the Union address.
Waters begins by discussing Trump’s comment on “binding the wounds of division.” Waters said, “After Trump defended white supremacists, targeted Muslims with his travel ban, described Mexicans as rapists and mocked people with disabilities, it’s impossible to believe him when he tries to declare that he wants to bring the country together.”
In the 5-minute speech, Waters addressed Trump’s previous hateful comments “Trump often works to convince dissatisfied elements in society that all of their problems are caused by people of color,” she said. “He sparks racial animosity by referring to black NFL players as sons of b*tches and demonizing immigrants from Haiti and Africa.” She goes on to make the point that Trump isn’t a “role model for children” due to his inappropriate language saying, “Whenever he appears on TV there should be a disclaimer that says ‘this may not be acceptable for children.'”
Maxine Waters follows with Trump is “compulsively dishonest” and a “bully.” She said her message is not a rebuttal as much as it is a “warning that this president doesn’t represent us.”
