At the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, Camila Cabello welcomed Irish rock band U2 to the stage. Before she announced the band, she gave a short speech about ‘DREAMers’ and where she came from. In the speech Cabello said, “Tonight in the room of music dreamers, we remember this country was built by dreamers for dreamers, chasing the American dream.” This statement received a lot of pushback as Cabello seemed unaware of the origins of America and those who paid with their lives to help build it.

During the same introduction, the camera panned to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 6-year-old daughter Blue Ivy who seemed wise enough to tell her parents to stop clapping. (Around the :57 second mark)

Not too long ago, the Former Fifth Harmony singer received flack for allegedly calling one of her group mates a ni**er. Twitter users didn’t shy away from reminding us of these rumors and then comparing it to her “dreamers” speech.
