Groupon’s most famous user is now its spokesperson. “Girls Trip” star Tiffany Haddish is set to star in the company’s first Super Bowl ad in seven years thanks to her now-viral swamp tour story with Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Haddish announced the news in a YouTube video and on Instagram Monday, Jan. 15, cementing her status as a verified superuser — a person in Groupon’s 1 percent of users.
“Nobody knows Groupon like I know Groupon,” Haddish said in a statement obtained by Deadline. “I’ve been speaking out for them for years. In fact, I should have already been their spokesperson. I’ve invested lots of money into buying Groupon deals, and it’s about time I got an even bigger return on my investment than just saving money at my favorite local businesses.”

Haddish initially signed up for the service in 2013 and when her excursion to the New Orleans swamp with “Girls Trip” co-star Pinkett-Smith and husband Will Smith took off last year on “Jimmy Kimmel Live“, the Groupon knew what needed to happen next.
“The Jimmy Kimmel link went through the entire company very quickly,” Jon Wild, head of marketing for North America, told People magazine. “We talked about involving her in our business more and as we got to know her, her purchases and the type of customer she is, we wanted to find her the stage that is appropriate and here we are talking about her in the context of the Super Bowl.”
The 30-second ad will air during the fourth quarter of the game on Sunday, Feb. 4 but fans are already congratulating Haddish on her accomplishment.
Many posted “Congratulations” and “She ready!” quoting the comedian’s catchphrase. Others just let emojis do the talking.
