Have You Heard: Top 5 Stories You Missed While You Were Sleeping

  1. The Grammy’s released the artists performing this year’s 60th annual award show. Cardi B, Bruno Mars and SZA will take the stage January 28th!
  2. A few days after Oprah’s speech at the Golden Globes about sexual assault, musician Seal drags Oprah on Instagram. Seal says “When you have been part of the problem for decades, but suddenly they all think you are the solution.”
  3. Walmart plans to raise their starting hourly wage to $11hr after competitor Target announced they will increase their wages as well. Walmart’s raise will be effective as of mid-February.
  4.  On Thursday, Trump administration issued that states can impose Medicare work requirements. This will allow states to cut off Medicare benefits for Americans unless they have a job, are in school, are a caregiver or participate in other approved forms of “community engagement”.
  5. James Franco felt very uncomfortable on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Meyers asked him about the sexual allegations published by the LA Times.  Franco denied them all. The L.A. Times published a story that 5 women claimed Franco sexually assaulted them. Franco recently won the award for Best Actor at the Golden Globe.
