Sean “Diddy” Combs is taking his mogul status to a whole new level. The rapper and businessman tweeted Monday, Dec. 18 that he wants to buy the Carolina Panthers and he’s got support from NBA MVP Steph Curry and Colin Kaepernick.
Diddy’s announcement came after owner Jerry Richardson announced in a statement he’d sell the team after the 2018 season. The news comes after allegations of “workplace misconduct” were levied against him amid an NFL investigation, according to Sports Illustrated.

Soon after, Golden State Warriors point guard Curry, offered up an investment…

…which, Diddy welcomed.

Diddy also posted a clip on Instagram, noting he wanted to give free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick the chance to become a starting QB over Cam Newton.

“I will be the best NFL owner that you can imagine,” he says. “I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year’s starting quarterback. It’s just competition, baby. It’s just competition. I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music. And we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl.”

But it seems like Kaepernick simply wants ownership.

Online, Diddy and Kaep got lots of support.
If @Diddy buys the @Panthers then that’s my new team.

Yes that would be dope!! It might make me watch NFL again because right now in my house, NO KAP = NO NFL!

Others poked holes in Diddy’s decision.
Diddy really put a video online saying he wanted to buy the Panthers. In 1 minute he:
1) Got the name of the team wrong
2)Said he'd bring in Kaep to compete for a starting job, despite already having a franchise QB
3) Suggested the halftime show would be the org's No. 2 priority— Chris Herring (@Herring_NBA) December 18, 2017
But…Diddy, you was sued THIS YEAR by your former chef for sexual harassment, defamation, retaliation, failure to pay overtime, AND infliction of emotional distress. I believe those actions are now frowned upon. Ask Jerry Richardson. Real name Jerome, goes by Mister.

And several were particularly fired up over his plans to replace Newton.

Do NOT do this. I support those of color in any facet and want diversity in NFL ownership but if you would replace @CameronNewton with Colin Kapernick to I can’t deal. Cam is hands down the best!

So Diddy is trying to buy the panthers and replace Cam Newton with Colin Kaepernick…. long time Panther fans will not be happy about this.
