“Grey’s Anatomy” star and activist Jesse Williams is no stranger to standing up against Black oppression. He’s also unafraid to especially stick up for Black women. He made that clear by encouraging fans to buy a shirt that says Black women clean up everyone’s messes.
The statement was made following the historic election of Democrat Doug Jones, who famously helped convict the Klansmen responsible for the 1963 Birmingham church bombing, into the Alabama Senate. He won over Republican Roy Moore thanks to Black women. NBC News exit polls show 98 percent of Black women voted for Jones compared to 34 percent of white women.
While several people applauded Wiliams’ proclamation…
…others boosted other women who help causes.

And one response led to this celebrated clapback from Williams.
Many backed Williams’ response and educated the naysayers.
Williams’ applauding of Black women echoes a similar tweet post from actor Kofi Siriboe. The “Queen Sugar” star proudly professed his love for Black women in February. He won praise when he maintained that support when some questioned why he didn’t spotlight non-Black women.
