Mel B and her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte are making progress in their divorce. The former Spice Girl had filed a restraining order against her spouse but according to TMZ, it has been withdrawn.
Mel B, whose real name is Melanie Brown, filed the order in April and alleged Belafonte had been physically and verbally abusive. With the order lifted, Belafonte will now be able to see Madison, his 6-year-old daughter with Mel.
“Miss Brown stood her ground and we replaced the domestic violence restraining order with a private settlement,” family law mediator Sean Collinson, whom Mel’s team hired told the Daily Mail Thursday, Nov. 9.

The couple’s property division has also been settled in part. Details of the deal and why it was made are under wraps, but the spouses are that much closer to being divorced.
However, one issue remains unsettled. Mel B, who wed Belafonte in 2007 before filing for divorce in March, still has a restraining order against ex-nanny Lorraine Gilles. Mel B alleged the nanny became pregnant by Belafonte, who gave her Mel B’s money for an abortion. Gilles claims she had a seven-year affair with Belafonte and TMZ reported she accused Mel B of forcing her to engage in a threesome.
