After Tyrese Gibson tearfully confessed he was broke and paying $13,000 per month in child support, the singer has announced he’s got some help from his famous friends. Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith gave Gibson $5 million to “keep us afloat” and the “Fast 9” star is over the moon.
“My wife [Samantha Lee Gibson] kept the news away from me cause I’ve been on with lawyers all day but our family and our sister Jada-Pinkett Smith and my brother Will Smith just sent us 5 million dollars to help keep us afloat,” he wrote on Instagram Sunday, Nov. 5. “You’ve [sic] guys asked me to get off and stay off the Internet now that my daughter’s legal fees will be paid! [I] will listen….. The Smiths’s [sic] and their whole family has always shown up for The Gibson’s [sic] Uncle Will you’re an uncle for real.”

The 38-year-old has been embroiled in a custody battle with his ex-wife Norma Mitchell Gibson over their 10-year-old daughter Shayla. In a Wednesday, Nov. 1 Facebook video, Gibson, who won’t have charges pressed against him in a now-closed child abuse investigation, wept over the fact that he hadn’t seen Shayla in two months.

“And ain’t nobody showin’ up for me,” he said tearfully. “I got all these millionaire friends, these billionaire friends. I’ve been there for you, why nobody’s there for me?”
He cleared up that he was OK hours later and on Saturday, Nov. 4, the singer seemed to learn he did have some wealthy friends in his corner.
“Will Smith….. Not only does your heart beat for Shayla…… it beats for the world……. We love and appreciate you more thank you could ever know,” Gibson wrote.

As the “Sweet Lady” singer gets his finances in order, he’s also decided to bury the hatchet with is “Fast” co-star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. After having a heart-to-heart with one of Johnson’s associates, Gibson said this would be his last post about the star.
“My story will never change I️ was never DJ’s Co-Star,” Gibson wrote. “I’m Shayla’s Father first….”
