Nigerian author Nnedi Okorafor already has one Marvel series under her belt and now she’s ready to add Black Panther to her roster. Like Roxane Gay and Ta-Nehisi Coates before her, Okorafor will explore the world of Wakanda albeit in a new comic, “Black Panther: Long Live the King.” Debuting Dec. 13, Nerdist reported Tuesday, Oct. 3 the set will follow T’Challa, the leader of the fictional African nation, as he defends the country against a new menace.

“Long Live the King” will continue to grow the world Gay and Coates created before their Black Panther series ended, according to Chip Mosher, head of content and senior director of communications for ComiXology. The cloud-based comics distribution platform will host the series exclusively.
