After hiring a surrogate earlier this year, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West will have their third child at the end of January, according to TMZ.
The news comes after the couple paid $45,000 for the surrogate, and it follows a tumultuous past couple of years for West. But it now seems he’s getting back to musical form and working on new tunes.
The Chicago native has reunited with on-again-off-again friend and collaborator Kid Cudi and the two have been crafting a secret joint project in Japan, according to The New York Daily News’ Page Six.
The GOOD Music founder also was seen in the studio with Migos in July by the paparazzi, while TMZ reported that he’s working on a new album and has booked studio sessions on a mountaintop in Wyoming.
It’s been 13 years since West hit the scene with his 2004 debut, “The College Dropout,” which combined styles from the underground and mainstream segments of hip-hop.
“First n—- with a Benz and a backpack,” he rhymed on “Breathe In Breathe Out, which gave a sense of his artistic approach.

West’s 2005 masterpiece, “Late Registration,” celebrated its 12th anniversary last month on Aug. 30 and he’s remained one of hip hop’s most provocative and polarizing artists since its release.
But since getting married to Kardashian, the talented producer has been the focus of heavy media scrutiny, which could have contributed to his 2016 breakdown during a stop on his “St. Pablo Tour.”
That’s the show where he publicly dissed Beyoncé and JAY-Z, which the Brooklyn rapper recently addressed.
West also had to deal with his wife being held at gunpoint in Paris last year, which may have contributed to the couple’s decision to have another child. Daughter North West is 4 years old, and their son Saint West is 1.
“Kanye and I have always talked about having more kids, but after what I went through in Paris, the urgency is even greater,” said Kardashian West on an episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”
At this time, the couple hasn’t made an official announcement concerning another child, but one may be forthcoming.
