The season finale for Starz’s “Power” aired on Sept. 3. However, the network made sure to give fans some excitement by releasing the teaser for season five.
“Power” revolves around James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), who has what seems to be the perfect life. He lives in a penthouse in New York City, has a committed wife in Tasha (Naturi Naughton) and three beautiful children. St. Patrick, who was known as “Ghost” when he was dealing drugs, wants to let go of his past. He decides to take his life in a new direction and opens a club called Truth. Ghost has high hopes for his new club despite the pushback from his wife and best friend, Tommy (Joseph Sikora). When his ex-lover Angela (Lela Loren) randomly comes in one night, old feelings come back. As the show goes on, Ghost learns that every decision he makes has a direct impact not only on him, but also on those closest to him.
In the latest season, viewers saw Ghost released from jail, say goodbye to his ex-lover Angela, realize how crucial his wife is to his life and lose one of his children. He came to the realization in the finale that his enemy Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who produces the show) is more useful as a friend than an enemy.
In the 25-second trailer, Ghost, Tommy and Kanan are ready to take down a mutual enemy, Dre, who feels like he was underestimated by the three of them. The trailer effectively illustrates an age-old adage: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
Season five is set to premiere in 2018. Take a look at the trailer below.
