Gabrielle Union is fully embracing her healthy hair journey by sporting her natural curls on the red carpet, much to the delight of her fans.
The actress posted a video of her glammed-up look before she stepped out to a screening of “The Fate of the Furious” in Atlanta on Tuesday, April 4, and it racked up more than a million views. Union’s hair was prominently on display as she rocked a bold red lip and a one-shoulder jumpsuit by New York and Company, which she is a spokesperson for.
The half-up bun ‘do was styled by TV, film and print hairstylist Wankaya using products from Union’s new natural hair care line Flawless.
Introduced in March, Union shared she wanted “women with textured hair to have great hair days.”
“I went through a phase where I would leave my relaxer on so long, thinking the longer I leave this relaxer on, the straighter it’s going to be,” Union told WWD. “Cut to lesions, like open wounds in my scalp, trying to chase something that was unrealistic, and eventually probably in my mid- to late-20s, I decided to give up my relaxer and I went natural. By natural I mean underneath the weaves, extensions, clips and the hair color was my natural hair — thriving.”
In preparation for her red carpet look, Union deep conditioned her hair using Flawless products and shared her progress on Instagram Monday, April 4.
Union revealed her final look for the movie premiere a day later and her Instagram caption indicated she was pleased with the results.
