Some of our favorite entertainers have gone on record calling out the deplorable institution of white supremacy. With the possibility of risking millions and ending their careers, stars like actor Samuel Jackson have commented on the institution in an attempt to wake up those who choose to deny systematic oppression.
In a 2011 New York Times interview, Jackson made a poignant statement on the Ku Klux Klan that illustrates the reality of Black people in America. “People know about the Klan and the overt racism,” he told the publication. “But the killing of one’s soul little by little, day after day, is a lot worse than someone coming in your house and lynching you.”
This most recent Atlanta Black Star original showcases quotes from other famous people and intellectuals with eye-opening views on racism.
