On the Aug. 10 edition of Fox News’ “Outnumbered,” co-host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery compares actor Will Smith‘s recent comments about Donald Trump to ethnic cleansing.
In an Aug. 7 interview in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Smith answers a question about the Republican presidential nominee during a press conference promoting the Warner Bros. and DC Comics film “Suicide Squad.”
“As painful as it is to hear Donald Trump talk, and as embarrassing as it is as an American to hear him talk, I think it’s good, we get to hear it, we get to know who people are, and now we get to cleanse it out of our country.”
Montgomery, a former MTV veejay, misinterpreted that as racial genocide or violence toward Trump.
“Don’t say that you’re going to purge or cleanse the country. You know, for people who have left other places on Earth where certain ethnicities have been purged and cleansed? Or people who disagree with those in power, have been purged and cleansed. It is a dangerous thing to say.”
