After Cosby Show star Keshia Knight Pulliam announced her pregnancy and news leaked about her divorce to estranged husband Ed Hartwell, the actress is going on the record to clear the air. In part one of a revealing interview, she stated he was the one who was unfaithful.
“Early on in my marriage when I was faced with this, I was ready to leave. It’s not OK,” Pulliam told Entertainment Tonight of Hartwell’s alleged infidelity during their 6-month long marriage. “In the process, I found out I was pregnant. And I had to take another hard look and decide if I wanted to try to work through this and forgive him for the sake of the child. Like, I had divorce papers ready. I presented it to him. … Once I was pregnant I did decide to give him that one last chance.”
“I have never cheated on him during my marriage,” she added. “That’s not who I am.”
On her spouse’s claim that the baby is not his, the 37-year-old said that isn’t true.
“This is his baby. He wanted more children,” she explained. “He was excited once he found out that we were having a little girl. There was never a question about that. … No point after we got pregnant was there an issue of the fact that we’re having a baby.”
The new addition, her first, is the most important part of the situation for the former House of Payne star.
“There’s a baby in the middle of this!” she emphasized. “And regardless, if we don’t want to be married, that’s fine, because we agree on that. But this baby is what’s important, and I feel like that’s being lost.”
Ahead of the interview, Pulliam posted a message on Instagram teasing the talk – the first and only time she said she will discuss the matter.

“Never Let Anyone Steal Your Joy,” she captioned the photo.
According to official documents, Hartwell filed for divorce just one week after his wife announced they were expecting a baby girl. The ex-Baltimore Ravens linebacker cited irreconcilable differences “such as constant disagreements on life changing decisions that couples typically make together.”
He shared his side of the story with Page Six Thursday. The footballer did not outright accuse his wife of cheating but said she “wanted to get in vitro, I can say she wanted to do some things to make sure she got pregnant.”
“I just want to make sure it is mine,” he added, referring to getting a paternity test.
He also denied all allegations of unfaithfulness on his end, saying he learned his soon-to-be ex “can tell a half-truth to make sure that she seems like – I don’t want to say the victim. But that she’s the one that’s right.”
