Fresh off the news of Ciara and Russell Wilson’s English castle wedding July 6, the bride took to Snapchat to confirm what many have speculated – the pair consummated their marriage that night.
An Instagram account dedicated to the singer’s snaps posted a series of clips where Ciara told Wilson, “So, baby, you know what we’re doing tonight.”
Wilson responded, “frrom what we did last night, I’m gonna do it multiple times.”
“Sure wouldn’t lie,” Ciara said in a follow-up clip.
Not to be outdone, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback shared a clip bragging about their first night of sex together.
“About last night,” the groom said winking at the camera. Ciara responded by laughing bashfully.
“We are the Wilsons,” she said.
Though the spouses happily shared how their night went, the general public is divided on the necessity of dishing on wedding night details.
On Yahoo, a commenter praised the couple for sticking to their morals and abstaining from premarital sex, but she admitted it was problematic for them to showcase their escapades.
Felicia disagreed. She felt there was nothing wrong with the husband and wife putting their joy on display.
On Facebook, there were similar disagreements.
Deanne Aicheson believed married couple’s sex lives should be private and the Wilsons’ oversharing could lead to their split.
Kelly O’Neal echoed those statements.
But Nervida Eliseo thought others should “grow up,” adding the pair simply wanted to share their “good vibes” with the public.
Rebecca Baum saw the move as a way to shut down inevitable questions about their love life.
Wilson and Ciara famously announced in July 2015 that they would abstain from sex before marrying. The NFL footballer told ETOnline about the mutual decision at the time.
“She was on tour, she was traveling, and I was looking at her in the mirror,” Wilson said. “God spoke to me and said, ‘I need you to lead her’ and I was like, ‘Really? Right now?’ He goes, ‘No, I want you and need you to lead her.’ ”
Then he asked Ciara, “What would you do if we took all that extra stuff [sex] off the table and just did it Jesus’ way?”
The singer agreed not to be intimate, but she revealed to Cosmopolitain earlier this year it wasn’t an easy feat.
“It’s going pretty good, we’re hanging in there,” she shared. “I’m not gonna lie. I’m human, so it is not easy, especially when I look at him and I think he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, that I’ve ever laid my eyes on, to be honest.”
