Earlier this year, economist and cultural expert Dr. Claud Anderson made an appearance on The Rock Newman Show to discuss Black economic progress and community building.
The clip above was posted today by Facebook user/page Indigengine highlighting some of Anderson’s best quotes from the hour-long interview.
According to Anderson, Black people must learn from immigrants and practice group economics to survive in this capitalistic society.
“It is impossible to be a competitive group of people without a physical community or a broad sense of community,” he said. “… Within months immigrants would start building communities. There will be Japan towns, Mexican towns… ”
He goes on to say that immigrants would build communities to become competitive. Anderson urges Black people to practice group economics and keep wealth in Black communities.
I went on buyblack.com the other day and did my laundry at a black owned laundra mat. The laundra mat was out of the way but worth it. Why was it worth it? Well, I got tired of being treated like crap at the asian owned laundry in my neighborhood. Plus, Asians and other ethnics go out of their way to support their own, so should black folks.
