Rihanna has broken a tie with the King of Pop by having 14 No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Hot 100. “Work” joins other hits — such as “Umbrella,” “Take a Bow” and “Disturbia” — in her illustrious career.

At only 28 years old, Rihanna has broken other music-related records, including being one of the youngest artists to achieve 14 No. 1 singles. She is currently ranked third all-time in terms of the number of singles that have made it to the No. 1 spot. Rihanna is just behind Mariah Carey, who has 18 No. 1 singles, and the Beatles, who have 20.

However, the news did not roll over well with some.

Rapper Azealia Banks, who is no stranger to expressing her feelings and is usually spot-on about White supremacy, was not feeling Rihanna’s latest.

Growing up in Barbados, Rihanna began her career making mixtapes in the early 2000s before joining with Jay Z by 2005 to release her first studio album, Music of the Sun. Since then she has created an expansive discography that includes A Girl like Me (2006), Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), Rated R (2009), Loud (2010), Talk That Talk (2011), Unapologetic (2012) and her most recent Anti (2016).

Her albums have sold an estimated 200 million copies worldwide and have garnered her such titles as the “Pop and R&B Princess.” She has five platinum-certified albums, which includes the Grammy Award winner Unapologetic and her second Billboard 200 No. 1 album Anti.

Rihanna is still young and has pretty much dominated the music industry for the last 11 years in tandem with the one and only Beyoncé.

Her eight Grammy Awards; eight American Music Awards; 23 Billboard Music Awards and two BRIT Awards cements her place in Pop and R&B music history.
