Wondering where Frank Ocean’s latest album is?
You aren’t the only one.
It’s been three years and counting since he released his Grammy-nominated debut, Channel Orange. Defined by popular singles including,”Thinking Bout You,” “Forrest Gump” and “Sweet Life,” Channel Orange was aurally and musically brilliant. The innovative album gave lyrical life to many contemporary issues including unrequited love, betrayal, pain, sex, as well as drug use and addiction.
His next album has a lot to live up to, and his fanbase remains under ridiculous anticipation, since it was supposed to be released in July. While the album name has yet to be officially announced, there’s speculation that it’s called Boys Don’t Cry.
With July now come and gone, over the past few days his Twitter fans have been not so subtly pressing for answers. Even celebrities have joined in the questioning.

When you send a text to say you're five minutes away but haven't left the house yet.
That's Frank Ocean.

After a few days of these tweets Ocean released a statement on his Tumblr account:
“OK, IF ONE PERSON MANAGED TO STOP THEMSELVES FROM SPINNING THIS MORNING.. WHILE THE EARTH AND EVERYTHING KEEPS GOING.. WOULD THAT PERSON THEN GET SMASHED INTO BY THE OBJECTS AROUND HER AND CAUSE MASSIVE DESTRUCTION UPON IMPACT? OR IS THAT POOR PHYSICS..?
i know, i know..quit asking dumb a** questions to the internet and drop your album. haha.”
So while his post was in good humor, it’s obvious the star will not succumb to the pressure around him— Frank Ocean will release his next album when he is good and ready, and not before then. However, as fans continue to wait for the writer/producer to release his next album, there are many ways to pass the time.
1. Listen to Channel Orange on repeat (again).
2. Follow him on his new Snapchat account— @aglitterboy.
3. Keep mentioning him on Twitter.
Because quite Frankly, we been thinkin’ about you.
