Will we one day see Malia Obama on the set of her own film? It sure looks like a possibility. The oldest daughter of the FLOTUS was recently spotted bringing coffee to the cast and crew on the set of Girls, Lena Dunham’s hit series.
This isn’t the first production internship for Malia who has reportedly expressed an interest in filmmaking. Last summer, she was a production assistant for Halle Berry’s CBS show, Extant.
Sources close to Girls’ production say, “[Malia is] a fan, and mentioned that to Lena [Dunham] when she came to the White House. I’m not sure how long she’ll be interning for. It’s a bit of a trial thing for her. They’ve known each other and discussed it for a while. Lena and her get along great.”
Photographed drinking a soda near Aurora Ristorante in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg, Malia also helped keep the public from entering the set while the crew filmed scenes for the HBO headliner.
The First Teen recently celebrated her seventeenth birthday on July 4, and has been busy touring colleges. Like most soon-to-be graduates, she visited prospective universities in California as well as NYU and Columbia University (which is her father’s alma mater). Malia is set to graduate from the private Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. next year.
