  1. Terri Coleman-Williams says:

This post silently suggests that Christianity was prevalent for blacks before slavery. IT WAS NOT. Get some journalistic integrity.

  2. Cathy Logan says:

What is traditional African culture? There are 54 countries in Africa, not counting villages. Which culture is traditional?

  3. Coptic Christianity originated in Egypt. Not only that but Ethiopia and Egypt is mentioned more than any other places in the Bible. Let the record show that no religion in history originated in Europe whereas all of them originated out of Africa. People consistently regurgitate what they hear others say without studying or looking up facts. There is an all out attack on black Christians and no one is asking the question why.

  5. Jared Jordan says:

Actually Christanity was forced on Europeans during the crusades, Africas only religion is Voodoo and witch Docters

  6. Nessa Mc says:

Maybe some of you should watch Hidden Colors 1,2 and three!

  7. judaism, christianity, and islam, Abraham's curse upon humanity! Black people are fools for adopting the religions of their oppressors.

  8. Even Hidden Colors explained we had our own version of Christianity.

  9. Nessa Mc says:

    Exactly my point!

  10. Bwire Vincent says:

    +Terri Coleman-Williams
This post says that Christianity was prevalent for blacks before slavery. IT WAS : Ancient civilization began in Africa. That's all you need to know, for now.

  11. Incorrect! Read up on Egypt and Ethiopia.. The 10 commandments come from the 42 Laws of MAAT!

  12. To Jared Jordan: Stop watching Hollywood movies and research!

  13. Bwire Vincent says:

I agree with you; that's the reason why MLK Jr. died a loser, and Rev. Al Sharpton keeps walking on a treadmill; they use a White Jesus and God, to fight White racism. They forget that a racist's god is different from the God of all humanity.

  14. Bwire Vincent says:

Voodoo and witch Doctors is English: Try finding the translation in any African language, and let's see if you will still use the same argument against African religions.

  15. Edwin Hazell says:

If you're a black christian, you have a real short memory. ~Chris Rock

  16. Milton Ervin says:

Bwire Vincent I love when ppl don't know what they are talking about. religious witchcraft of Haiti and Southern U.S., ultimately of African origin, 1850, from Louisiana French voudou, from a West African language (such as Ewe and Fon vodu "spirit, demon, deity," also Vandoo, supposedly the name of an African deity, from a language of Dahomey). Compare vodun "fetish connected with snake worship in Dahomey," said to be from vo "to be afraid," or vo "harmful." The verb is attested from 1880.

  17. If your Chris Rock then you have an even shorter history dont you. Lol, search the origins of Christianity and stop posting what you heard. You sound like a parrot.

  18. Edwin Hazell says:

Aaron Mitchell you're, but thanks for playing. I don't need to be Chris to show how a black man of note and intelligence makes shrewd comments. If I can't quote Chris? You can't quote scripture…deal?

  19. There are many religions that originated in Europe. Roman, Celtic, and Germanic Paganism are European.

  20. Bwire Vincent Actually the earliest civilizations began in Sumer, in Asia, not Africa. And independently formed in the Americas by Native Americans.

  21. Aaron Mitchell Christianity began in the Middle East. Specifically the place that was then known as Judea, or today Israel.

  22. Did this man ungrateful cowardice ass say MLK was a loser? What have you done that trumps what he did?

  23. I stand corrected Edwin your a parrot and an English Major.

  24. Thomas Fisher, do more research, religion originated in Africa, specifically Egypt. Everything that you just mentioned was a spin off of African religions. Im sorry to tell you this but white supremacy is a lie. You had no originality in creation. Not even your own Gods.

  25. Bwire Vincent says:

Aaron Mitchell That's right. I say the same about Nelson Mandela; you can't force yourself to be part of a system that does not accept you. That's just common sense.
There is a reason why the White society tends to accept these two, over people like Malcolm X, Marcus Garvey, Stokely Carmichael, Rosa Parks etc.

  26. Bwire Vincent says:

Aaron Mitchell As long as you continue to embrace White man religion and language, you will always be a slave.

  27. Bwire I dont care how much you dont agree with MLK stance you respect your elders. MLK associated and got along with Malcolm X even though they disagreed with there point of views they realized they had a common enemy and a common goal. Even though MLK took the nonviolent route he wasnt afraid to get in there face and call them out. He put a strategy together to boycott white businesses and the bus system. Which we cant seem to do now. So chill with the disrespectful talk.

  28. And speaking of slavery… When the top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 90% then slavery in general still exist regardless of your religion.

  29. What they mean is their native cultures as in, not american ones.

  30. Aaron Mitchell You do understand that all humans at one point came from africa right?

  31. The creation of religion coming solely from africa? Well thats one more reason to ridicule it.

  32. Bwire Vincent says:

Aaron Mitchell The nonviolent route, was, is and will always be a failure. Dr. MLK Jr. led his flock to the slaughter house, and his students Jessie Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton are doing the same.
Because of the integration, you whine every time you feel underrepresented in White man's Hollywood, The Grammies, SNL etc.
Like the million man march, Ferguson failed, because the oppressed allowed the oppressor to decide for him the time, place and type of demonstration to stage.

  33. William the website is called Atlantablackstar. It speaks on social issues related to a black society. So why does it even matter to you?

  34. Bwire Vincent says:

Aaron Mitchell The top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 90%, because we allow them to; why do you think the occupy movement makes them uncomfortable?
If by slavery, you mean working for the top 100%, I will have you know that the employer needs the employee more than the employee needs him. It's because of disunity amongst the bottom 90% that things look otherwise.

  35. Why do Africans STILL follow the exact same religion and doctrine used to subjugate, enslave & colonise them in the 1st place?

  36. Sounds about right William. No accountability for self and blame everything else on everything and everyone. Its in your nature.

  37. I really didnt want to start fighting with a cockbrained jesus lover but i guess it was inevitable. Maybe you shouldnt bring up pointless irrelevant bullshit. Its just like you black people to claim discrimination and hate crimes saying its based on skin color. Its always the white mans fault isnt it. Yet you damn well know its not. If being black is just about skin color, why do 90% of your women dress like "ratchet" hoes. Why do i constantly hear, black power, black pride. As if those terms even made sense. Being black isnt about skin color its about covering up a culture of bible thumping, laziness and greed by shoving your failure on the people who supposedly suppress you.

  38. Horus Imhotep says:

Mf's seem to be missing the point! Fuck a religion! We at war mf's . And most y'all niggas is cowards hiding behind the white mans god.

  39. Aaron Mitchell I would not say they had a common goal at all, in fact totally different. Malcolm was a segregationist, MLK was an intergregationist. Intergregation got us nothing. It took away all the gains we had made. We were very progressive, but intergregation destroyed it all. MLK was a good man, he got along with all of the other leaders as they criticized him, he kept working for his cause. But it made no sense what black people fought and died for. Essentially blacks fought and died to be with whites who hated us, and to spend our money with them, when we should have going in the opposite direction. Create our own, continue what Marcus Garvey had already put in place for us, but intergregationist helped white supremacy destroy it. Had we been able to keep what Gavery had done, we would be the most powerful group in the world, and Africa would not be suffering. This was one of Garvey's major goals we help each other.

  40. They still do a lot of other killing things going back to slavery, our names, still eating slave food, some even still acting like slaves, the racial slur word was impounded in us some good, we still use the word against each other, and some even allow racist devils to use it against them. Don't get me started with religion.

  41. Nzingha Shabaka Let it be told by these fools the only thing that passed down from slavery is religion.

  42. And another thing, blacks need to find our who King James was. One thing for sure he was no biblical scholar. As much as blacks quote the King James Bible I would know who he was. Besides he translated the Bible, it is like he wrote the Bible. He was given a job to translate the Bible. But he was way more than a bible translator, and it was not nice.

  43. Bwire Vincent says:

Nzingha Shabaka Exactly. I tend to think that, the only winner in MLK's formula of running things, was MLK himself. His followers are still languishing in poverty and rejection. That's why, for lack of a better word, I say he died a loser; his dream is far from being realized.

  44. Bwire Vincent I think one of MLK's nonsense speech was when he said, "He dreams of the day little black boys and black girls will join hands". Now to me he should have been talking black economics, really it is embarrassing, blacks coming out of the gate talking about loving whites. MLK talked reparations at one time, he abandoned it, kept on the road to integration.

  45. Aaron Mccain says:

comments on religion make me laugh

  46. Mary Ellis says:

Thomas Fisher Isreal was part Africa. Blacks are the Jews not what is there today those are the intruders just like you have americans here in the land of the natives.

  47. Mary Ellis says:

The disciples were the original Christians . in fact the name Christian was a mockery. THe diciples were mocked for following Christ

  48. Brian Bunch says:

This article is stupid. It is suggesting that we trade the white man's snake oil for African snake oil. How about we stop relying on some supernatural connection to some sort of creator or our ancestors and do for self? Nobody is coming to save us. Get off your knees, stand on your own two feet and stop worrying about this superstitious bullshit.

  49. ab'Orisha Ifatunmise Rennent says:

Traditional African Culture as in Non European Culture, and or any African Tradition that Acknowledges our/their Ancestors. No matter how unattached we may feel from our African relatives, we are connected through the blood and DNA, that is where the Ancestors reside, Eternally.

  50. ab'Orisha Ifatunmise Rennent says:

This isn't an attack on Black Christians. It's not an Attack at all. What I know this article is saying to me, is that we have alternatives in Religious beliefs/Spirituality that we're not considering because of the teachings from Slavery to Pulpit.

  51. Are you kidding me?!? Christianity began in the Middle East and the hub of Africa! Many of Jesus' ancestors were BLACK (Tamar, Rahab, possibly Solomon)! One of the 12 was Simon the Canaanite (a descendant of Ham), Simon the Cyrene (Northern Africa) helped carry the cross and his sons were leaders in the early church, as well as Niger and Lucius of Cyrene who laid hands on Paul and Barnabas (Acts 13). The Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 is probably the founder of the Coptic Church in Ethiopia.

  52. Seriously?!? Check your history!!! The Bible is FILLED with African history. The Middle East and Africa are the center of the whole story until Paul's journeys to Europe in the book of Acts!!! We weren't introduced to Christianity in America, we were RE-INTRODUCED!!! Many of Jesus' ancestors were Black, the two largest tribes of Israel Manasseh and Ephraim were half Egyptian, Simon the Cyrene (Northern Africa) carried his cross, Lucius of Cyrene and Niger were prophets who laid hands on Paul (Acts 13), and the Ethiopian Eunuch was baptized by Stephen…the list goes on…

  53. Listen to this… I had a King James "The" Holy Bible for years before I one day decided to read the FOREWORD which explained that King James, who had commissioned "writers" to write the book, killed man after man until the one wrote it to his "liking". Imagine the volume of my INNER SLAP.

  54. JJ Jackson Okay. We understand each other without going after each others throat.

  55. Jesus was not Black or White he was of Jewish descent.

  56. Wonder Allen says:

Russell Sprinkle . I agree a good name change will help in some cases. But in others and good change of the mind is needed first. Once you change the mind, all else will become clear. Giving some folks a name change is like wearing flip-flops with socks. You can do it but it doesn't make sense.

  58. Bwire Vincent says:

Dion Richardson RE-INTRODUCED to contaminated Christianity, in which white defines good (God-ly), and Black, evil (Devil-lish).
In their version of Christianity, we have sinned, for the mere fact that we are dark skinned. Only Jesus' blood can wash our sins away, and make us white as snow.

  59. Bwire Vincent says:

Thomas Fisher A lot of civilization happened around the modern day Iraq too, along the rivers Euphrates and Tigris. The region is, in fact, known as the cradle of civilization.

  60. The original Jew were black look it up

  61. Darrell Seals says:

Bwire Vincent , so you lve on a distant planet somewhere all by your lonesome and thats how your talking to us now, right. Question do you now or have you always hard brain damage. You live in a society or culture now which is not of your own making. You are either a parasite in that culture or you are contributing to it. We hope? MLK finished HS at 16 and started at Morehouse then, can you say you have done equal to him or better. He put his lfe on the line with the info th he had at the time. Have you been arrested?? I'm sorry for the people that is? What sacrifice have you done for the people, besides being a civil rights armchair QB?

  62. Darrell Seals says:

The tribe of Aaron the priestly tribe are the Most JEWISH by their own definition. A fairly recent(last 5-7years) study did a DNA analysis of these direct descendants of Aaron. Who are stil Rabbi's. They were traced to a tribe in South Africa that is THOUSANDS of years old.

  63. Tremone Gilchrist says:

Great answer. Everyone can point out the deception, and where people are so wrong and "brainwashed" but no one has any concrete truth to help shape the next ones path out of they're darkness. You can't argue a person into wanting to follow you anywhere. People need to Learn to enlighten, and communicate in a way where people will gain from it. Specifically with facts if they're going to argue a point!

  64. Tremone Gilchrist says:

This is the best answer I've seen. This is the WAY, the Most High would want us to view this, thru all the chaos and confusion. You "Get it". I appreciate your post.

  65. Ryan Vega says:

Why would a person change there last name like they know what they're original last name is suppose to be. That's stupid. Should we change it to Muhammad, that would be dumb that's just like having the lay name Williams. Alot of stuff is irrelevant and dont mean a pile of beans. The fact of the matter is blacks are the original, also we are the most foolish and the ones that time after time continue to adopt the world standards and turning our back on I Look how he just recently brought us from slavery through the civil right movement to know. Look through history we've been enslaved then free. When turn our backs we go in bandage he saves us again. We are the most gifted, the strongest, most durable, and educated if we chose to be. Why you think there so many obstacles for us. Other races hate us for what cause they are intimated

  66. Bwire Vincent says:

JJ Jackson You; '…There was a reason he was murdered and it's because he realize He "may brought us into a burning building" His later speeches reflect on that thought…'.

Me; '…Dr. MLK Jr. led his flock to the slaughter house…'.

And I get to be the 'Ignorant shit head'?

I have, probably, studied Dr. King way more than you.

  67. Bwire Vincent says:

Darrell Seals I know for a fact, that Malcolm X was more realistic. I also know that if people had listened to him, nobody would be talking about civil rights in 2014: You would have your own vibrant economy, education, Black friendly news and sports. The entertainment industry would be alive, competing with Hollywood. It's called self reliance. In fact, it's them that would be knocking on your doors, begging for talent and expertise.

The following was posted, for me, by a white version of you:

    Jason Anderson2 weeks ago (edited)
'…So settle down there tyrone, the end of the month is near. Hit your bitch up for her EBT card and fetch yourself some fried chicken and a bottle of cognac. On me of course (and every other white person). Make sweet love to your black beast ape like woman and make us white folks some more niglets to support. we need more targets. Oh, I hope you are a fast runner too! Being black and all. Hopefully you'll produce some really fast niglets! We like them that way, you have to lead them a bit for a head shot but it makes it more fun!..'.

Think about that, next time you want to march.

  68. Bwire Vincent says:

ab'Orisha Ifatunmise Rennent Fact is, you are better off worshipping a rock.

  69. Bwire Vincent says:

Darrell Seals You should swap that 'uniform' for a jumpsuit: While you are busy sucking up to oppressor's army, your, people, who you should be defending are being dropped one by one.
Let me tell you something else, you fool; those you are serving have back up, from KKK, all the way to local militia. Now you see why you are just toilet paper to them?
So next time you go bombing Iraq and those other 'distant planets', remember the reason why Mohammed Ali refused to be like you.

  70. Bwire Vincent says:

Milton Ervin Did you know that in the racist oppressor's language, our doctors are 'witch-doctors'?
In Africa, their animal and chicken breeds, which they brought with them during the colonization era have rosy names, while the indigenous ones are called 'Shenzi type'. Roughly translated, shenzi means, 'Stupid' in Swahili.

  71. Bwire Vincent says:

    Change starts with you, brother.

  72. Milton Ervin says:

Bwire Vincent You can't argue facts or the etymology of words. lol

  73. Bwire Vincent says:

Milton Ervin Who taught you those facts?

    Use your head.

  74. Milton Ervin says:

Bwire Vincent Take $200 and invest in a good Etymology dictionary that actually breaks back the origin of words. Not Websters or Britannica or Wiki Pedia. Get the real deal that does not deal with racial lies. lol You have to pay for the truth. lol

  75. Bwire Vincent says:

Milton Ervin I don't need, 'Etymology dictionary'; I am African, to the bone. You want etymology, you talk to me.

  76. Milton Ervin says:

    Bwire Vincent lol …SMH

  77. Bwire Vincent says:

Edwin Hazell Tell the fool again; this time, sloowly, for him to understand.

  78. Bwire Vincent says:

Milton Ervin I speak three languages, other than English. And, English is the foreign one of them all…

  79. Jared Jordan says:

MR. "Bwires" profile pic speaks volumes in and of itself, invest in higher learning my dear boy Bankhead University isn't doing you alot of justice.

  80. Sly Randolph says:

Religion: The biggest divide in mankind today. Enuff said!

  81. Ron Jones says:

Wow you all always post relevant informative content and this is the realest…thank you for this….they need to hear this

  82. Aaron Mitchell This is true ,all that happen after.

  83. Christianty is a religion, the meaning of RELIGION is lies and DECEPTION created my men who took a oath to worship the devil and create religions in order to distract people from the truth Islam and set them up for damnation
Of course it will ask you not to do anything that will make you aware and cognizant of anything that will make you question it's validity every Black Christian KNOWS that Christianty is a false faith and ignore RED FLAGS every time they hear there pastor speak who took a path through the Prince Hall Masons when he reach 33rd degrees and started to worship the devil, there are in DENIAL they KNOW it's a FALSE RELIGION but continue to embrace it because they don't want to ACCEPT IT

  84. The color of Jesus' skin once upon a time made a difference to me until I realized its about the message he was sending and the color of his skin, like the color of mine made no difference. The kindness, love, compassion, and teaching of Christ knows no earthly nonsense like racial differences. My opinion, my belief, my growth and you are all welcome to your belief.

  85. JJ Jackson says:

Bwire Vincent Your disrespectful tone for someone who actually tried to do something for us all..

  86. Russell Sprinkle i would gladly change my last name, but honestly, into what?dont even knwo where my ancestors hailed from

  87. Thomas Fisher i beleive the middle east is really part of Northern Africa. It is a nice way of seperated the two.

  88. Rosa Johnson says:

I love Jesus Christ. he saved me when I was lost, turned my life around. all of you can believe, think, feel anyway you want. I know my redeemer lives.

  89. JJ Jackson Believe me, MLK is one of the people that make me proud to be Black, as, he has done a lot for the community. It's not my intention to come out as disrespectful, but, sometimes, that's just how it is.

I guess, my point is, he was human, and humans are not perfect.

  90. JJ Jackson says:

Bwire Vincent Word and apologies my brother i read you all wrong..Keep up the good work bruh..

  91. Reena Walker says:

I don't watch or support work made by pimps. A black woman who wasn't self hating wouldn't either.

  92. Nessa Mc says:

Who is self hating and who are the pimps?

  93. Jasmin Darshana Dickerson Swahili names;
    Malkia (Princess) Darshana
    Lulu (Pearl) Darshana
    Darshana Waridi (Rose flower)
    Darshana Almasi (Diamond)
Amani (Peace) Darshana – Darshana Amani
    Dhahabu (Gold) Darshana

  94. Bwire Vincent my point exactly. changing my name only makes sense if i know where i am from, which i don't. but thanks for the list, the names are beautiful

  95. Jasmin Darshana Dickerson So, you would rather keep the name you are uncomfortable with, because you know where you got it from?

  96. Maurice Job says:

    Whose enlightened by this list?

  97. Easier said than done!

  98. Raja Jack says:

When I was young I saw Tarsan this pale half dressed Johnny Weismiller swinging through trees. While we saw Africans portrayed as barbaric, cannibals, lacking sophistication and intelligence. I, a brainwashed kid rooted for Tarsan and was taught to hate everything African. It wasn't until I woke up and discovered to hate Africa was to hate myself. I learned that I came from a very civilized people who taught the world spiritually, love and forgiveness. All that our ancestors did others claimed credit for it. Jews are converts. The more I awaken, I notice how many more are still asleep.

  99. I don't know if this had been said on this thread yet.
It's strange to me that we would cking so strongly to the religion of our oppressors.

  100. Jay Hill says:

This article is like saying they taught you English in slavery so reject the English language.

  101. I live in South Africa and this article has hit home for mr. Most blacks in our country don't practice their cultures and are not connected to their ancestors thanks to the teachings of the white man.

  102. yall speaking his language right now son!

  103. Tony Evans says:

Traci Hannon If he did then why did he allow so many Black people to perish during the Middle Passage to America on one ship bearing his name? Why does he allow Black people to suffer in countries that have so many places dedicated to worshipping him? It's easy because he does not exist and Black people bought a bill of bad goods following behind this foolishness.

  104. I would say "the village that you come from is where your Cultural and Traditions are at". Get your DNA tested and go from there if you choose to.

  105. Amazing how misinformed and hateful so many people get when their small sense of reality is jolted by facts, truth, and history As was made famous by a movie, many "Cant handle the Truth".
Hopefully some will do some real research stop listening to non informed, ignorant but well meaning others and find the facts and truth for themselves. Doing real, deep, authentic research and study has helped "Many" become even stronger Christians and people of Faith! If ones faith and basis for believing is jolted and angered by a well written and researched article, one should look in the mirror and question what you believe, have been told, and blindly accepted, and get the facts and truth about early Christianity & Africa, not todays churchians and their human traditions based on lies about Africa and our history. It has been said many times and is so true, "The greatest Weapon possessed by the Oppressor is the Mind of the Oppressed", the comments below really highlight that for me, so sad in 2014 that so much hate can be produced by introducing truth, facts and history to ones created, human tradition created and oppressor fed reality.

  106. Milton Ervin I like your nice cut & paste from a European dictionary. Move on…

  107. Blacks should study the HOLY BIBLE and learn about OUR ancestors. We are THE TRIBE OF JUDAH!! GODS CHOSEN. Taught confusion keepsbyour bibles closed and YOU believing false doctrine!! Trust no man…read and study the message GOD lefy you…it truly is good news.

  108. Jasmin Darshana Dickerson I would say "the village that you come from is where your Cultural and Traditions are at". Get your DNA tested and go from there if you choose to. Also, you don't have to legally change your name if you don't want, just pick one; because you did not have to go to court as a people to receive the slave name. I will not ask for permission for what belongs to me. Your name is your first gift.

  109. Who said she was uncomfortable with her name? Like Africans were the only ones who changed their names haha. I know a Chinese guy who goes by Mike and his real name is Fei. Just what happens man. Italians changed their names too to be more American. You want to live in AMERICA, maybe should follow some of AMERICA's customs.

  110. 1. Because Jesus doesn't single out races.
    2. Because HE HAS A PLAN.

Oh, but my fiancé died…. he has a plan.
Oh, but my mother passed away… he has a plan.
Oh, but I'm sick… he has a plan.
Oh, but I thought I loved her and now she's gone… he has a plan.

Just because it didn't go the way YOU expected and sometimes the world seems unfair, just realize God has a plan in place for us all already and pain and death no longer exist in the afterlife. It is a BLESSING to die… if you are saved, because you experience ETERNAL life, love and happiness. This world is for the birds and everything that came out of it…. like God told me to, I have NO LOVE for any of it. No possession, no woman, nothing! Because I will pass on to a New World and all the pain will be gone.

  111. Reference: Africa(n) History.

Please give this some thought regarding African History; It is very hard to teach something you have innate. Unless you are taught to forget what is rightfully yours. Your homeland and ancestors history is yours. How you express yourself; Are you expressing our ancestors history or are you expressing the conquerors. Do you ever wonder whatever happened to your relatives sold and stolen as slaves from Africa? When you find a relative (brothers or sisters) that was stolen from Africa many hundreds years ago; do you strike up a conversation with them? Do you ask how are they doing? Do you ask how did they survive? Do you ask whatever happened to your ancestors that was stolen or sold? Are you concerned with relatives that are seeking to reunite with our mother land? Are you concerned about dual citizenship for African-Americans or any other African that was stolen and sold from our motherland Africa?

You have my permission to repost and pass it forward.

  112. And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east. And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah."He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy."She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?"He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.' "So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place. And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten."But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream. And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.' "Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."That is Jesus, the son of Mary – the word of truth about which they are in dispute. It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.[Jesus said], "And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."Then the factions differed [concerning Jesus] from among them, so woe to those who disbelieved – from the scene of a tremendous Day.How [clearly] they will hear and see the Day they come to Us, but the wrongdoers today are in clear error. And warn them, [O Muhammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe.Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.

  113. This article is pretty much useless & nonsensical drivel.

  114. Could you give me resources i want to learn more but not sure where to look.

  115. And why the hell doesn't he shut down Satan by the way? This being is so powerful that it created an evil Angel that somehow happens to be as powerful as God shelf? Wtf?

Do his powers have limits too that can be challenged? I thought he was supposed to be limitless.

  116. Strange article because most of what it says applies to a small population of black people and many people know are very knowledgeable about the history of the bible and African history. A true believer of any faith will respect their history & culture but when one compromises your faith to make everyone feel comfortable about your history then you are headed for a problem.

  117. I'm not going to lie I really don't like race-baiters. but here's a question since when does one person speak for an entire race we are individuals others in our community don't understand that so they group you together but guess what a racist does not see you as an individual either, maybe it because we have a your either with me or against me attitude. or maybe you don't see yourself as and individual. think for yourself.

  118. before you attack a religion don't attack one so diverse with people who believe differently about curtain subjects.

  119. remember it is a religious belief the stemmed the point the we are inherently free individuals. this argument should be in the back of your mind as it was Christian values that brought us forth out of slavery. being that man can be owned by no other man, but God or mans Creator. the infamous doctor martin Luther king jr. giving that speech about the declaration of independence. we hold these truths to be self evident that all men our created equal and endowed by their creator with curtain in unalienable rights, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

  120. Jay Hill says:

It funny people say don't believe the bible it's man made, believe what the Egyptians wrote on the walls they where pure they would never lie and although most of the tombs that where discovered was raided by thieves there is no possibility at all that anything was compromised. It's all about what you want to believe. You reject the bible that you say is flawed and written by men. Yet you except a book written by men about African history.

  121. Very powerful! How can you love others but hate yourself. Take care of home first. Wow very well put

  122. The truth won't set us free but it will make us free our people are destroyed for the Lack of Knowledge. Who are we BLack people we are not a color we are not a hair style why are their hiding our identity? I wont tell you who we are study to show urself approved. LOL! Love u all.

  123. Wow brother the only way to know urself is to know God. He will really show hisself to you, then u will believe. I will pray for ur journey to God.

  124. How is MASONS the real name for Africans I dout it research some more youll find ur true identity its right in ur face as everyone elses.

  125. The religion did not enslave them division did. Divide and conquer if we as black people can come together as one as God and Christ is one there will be nothing on this earth we wont be able to accomplish. We are looking for escape goats to have a resolution for our problems we need to look at us and work with that first then we can handle the outside problems accordingly.

  126. Well put sis when it comes to God there is no race.

  127. What is the point ur trying to make?

  128. I meant the living should have no communion with the dead.

  129. Only God will be the judgevof who goes to hell. Even the church and ppl now want to evoke fear in us all. So tired of it…no condemnation. God does forgive and

  130. I hate cultism and I no longer feel I have to beling…church should not feel like ur signing up for a gang…

  131. I see why we are confused…all these different denominations vandv cults and sects…I can't keep up…thats why um done and just pray heclead and guide me everyday

  132. Ain't nobuddy got tymefadis lol

  133. Some people can go to hell through the gate way of the church God is just asking us to attend church so we can grow in him do not forsake the assembling of the brotherhood it helps u grow. It is not a spiritual place where only God dwells he dwells in the temple of mankind. Find a church where u can grow.

  134. Notice I am finally responding and not arguing.. I have three children and I hate even getting ready for church or trying to make sure e erybody hairvnail etc look presentable by Sunday morning…to stressful for me plus my husband works nights. I am at peace and I have grown. Going to church did not even help me with anger ….getting counseling did. I think a relationship with God is the best thing u can ever HAVE. Fellowship with Him is a comnand …fellowship with man is not. My situation is a bit much to explain and I do like drama and this fuss about religion. Nothing u xan do I feel when the end comes so may as well Live. Um done pisting. I do study and I don't believe everything I hear

  135. Yes, despite being on this planet longer than any other race of people, with original religion and spiritualism, 'westernised' blacks agree with their European bosses that our ancient beliefs are nothing more than just evil, pagan, mumbo jumbo nonsense. The long haired European 'Jesus' is an image of the nephew of pope Alexander IV. Nothing more. Then we were handed a 'bible' written by a murderous, British king (James) and gullible black people accepted this as The Word of God. Yes, go to church next Sunday; dance and sing like the minstrel you are; hand over your money. You stupid bastard. And before you have a heart attack over my statements, I must add that I pray regularly to the Creator God. He's not religious, so why should I be?

  136. We should remember that the elements of Christianity were prevalent in very ancient times…tens of thousands of years ago. The roman version was forced upon all peoples of the world. But it all goes back to the PER EM HERU.

  137. proud of my African roots, legacy and heritage… however, I remain a disciple of CHRIST, in relationship with YHWH. My faith through personal relationship and fellowship with the Creator and HIs divine WORD. Not through any "slave oppressor", mental enslavement, or twisted theology as some suppose. Don't disrespect another man's ability to communicate with the Divine, as YHWH "makes HIMSELF known to all of them that are HIS". Not praying to ancestral gods, or deceased ancestors. Yet, I acknowledge my African DNA which comes from a rich ancient inheritance. However, can't deny that the slave oppressor during one of his rousings and perverse sexual curiosities, dropped his seed into my bloodline. Cringe at the thought. I also acknowledge, love and appreciate ALL of my brothers and sisters in unified community and a desire to progress and rise as ONE unique powerful people with different beliefs and cultural diversities. *MyChoice.

  138. Ken Rupert says:

This article did what I thought it was going to do. A Non Christian writing about the Christian Faith. Please write about another religion and criticize their followers. There are black muslins tell them Allah should be black and an African spiritualist. Tell them about what a black muslin should be like. There are Black Buddhist tell them Budda should be black and their followers need to get connect with the spiritualist from their African tradition.

  139. one thing is missed from this artic i.e. black people learnt how to lie and deny the written words in the bible and coin their way through the verses just like staunch white Christians.

  140. Enslaved Africans/African Americans embraced Christianity because it helped them cope with their bondage. Although thousands of Blacks discovered Christianity, many clergy, slave masters, and governmental authorities forced Protestantism on black slaves because they saw them as heathens that needed to be saved from their pagan ways.(Read "Slave Religion" by A Rabateau) Since the end of slavery, Blacks continued to use these religious practices not only for cultural reasons but also for psychological reasons; these practices helped them cope with racism, poverty, and violence. Blacks need to let go of these practices and they can start by not believing in Jesus and God.

  141. This is by far the dumbest thing I've read in a while. Lo

  142. I am laughing at the fact there is millions of black men, and women who do not know that they are the descendants of the first humans to walk the earth. There is a reason Africans have the highest genetic diversity of all racial groups. Four times more diverse than any race. There is a reason the mitochondria DNA in all human females traces back to a black woman in Africa who lived thousands of years ago. I do not believe in a god, creator, or any religion. I am too educated in reality, history, evolution, genetics, science, and genealogy to be submissive to indoctrination. If there was god, he/she would be black. And most likely a female. Point is, your beliefs are tools of manipulation, your submissiveness to it started at an early age for a reason. It is easier to indoctrinate children, than most adults. Just like it was easy to indoctrinate slaves to make them more submissive to white domination, and less likely to revolt. Accept reality, ignore the lies. You represent the blueprint of humans. They know it, and they do not want you to. Anything I said is a google search away. If you deny it, then prove it otherwise. Pay particular attention to gene slc24a5. It explains why other races exists.

  143. all of these except the white Jesus imagery are the Christian Faith. Every cultural group and their religious practices are second to knowing God and the KJV is older than African slavery.

  144. Allen Thomas says:

Another fine pro-Christian, pro-American article by the ABS. Their love, logic, and respect for truth simply overflows….NOT!

  145. I like what the writer says about having a relationship with the creator. That's enough for me. Religion is too confusing to me.

  146. I have a great relationship with God, which I don't have to "prove" to you. You say love is a chemical in our brains… That's an awesome theory. But love and faith are two things you can't explain. Science says there is gravity but can not tell you why… The why is God's law and reasons which we are not privvy to. Believe what you want but my love and relationship with God is undeniable. But up for you to speculate I suppose

  147. Pray to God, ask him to show you a sign. Believe and when you see that special sign, don't question.

I once asked (in the heat of the moment) for God to send a messanger to my door. It was mid-day and I lived in the apartment and I never received any visitors, ever. I lived there w my wife and son who were gone. Isajd nevermind, i'm sorry we don't even have buzzers on our door if somebody wanted to come into our apartment building. It wasn't fair to God. 25 minutes later the kid upstairs knocked on my door and I was a look to the people he waved at me and I felt a rush as if God was waving at me. I let him in and we talked for a bit. Never before or after did my neighbor come. Nor will I ever ask for a sign again….

But see what you call coincidence, I call Faith.

Faith isn't made up, just like gravity isn't made up. Both are very real. Welcome to reality son.

I once had a dream about my great-grandmother, who was very religious and believed Jesus Christ was our Lord and she died at the age of 100 years old. I had a dream about her the morning of Easter Sunday and it was a very impactful dream that included me actually holding her arm and crying to her in tears in front of other family members as I told her it was great that she was able to make it to another Mother's Day. She had been passed away for at least three years and I woke up and I thought how strange because it was Easter and not Mother's Day, I told my wife this very dream and she tossed me a Bible to take to church. Out of the Bible, a pamphlet flew out on the bed and on a pamphlet was a Mother's Day greeting from the previous year, that my wife had attended the year before. As you see it was God's way of opening my eyes to a woman who I knew had a great relationship with him and show me a sign that was completely undeniable. You cannot define the world, you cannot define faith, you cannot define humankind or God. You're just a man and you just have an opinion and I choose not to care about your opinion because quite frankly it's very irrelevant. Also because you can't deny my relationship with God. As much as you'd like to, to say love is just chemical shows youve never been in love, maybe you never had children… But your feelings are of this World and not with God.

  148. Larry Auburn says:

sad to say religion is forced upon most children through sentimentality, fear and recent family loyalties…. and no believer actually reads the King James bible as instead they fondle it as a fetish rarely quoting more than a few dozen words from the misogynist genocidal pornographic anti-science book….alleged gods have no color no eyes no blood nor skin to eat in symbolic cannibalism called the eucharist…..worse yet since human flesh was stolen from Africa and women raped here to sell their babies by white "owners" red bating and McCarthyism has made caring for workers rights and free speech for Atheists UNPATRIOTIC….THE new plantation owners are the corporation executives who bribe their way into control of elected office holders for continued control of our fascist Amerika.

  149. You need one more! 6) Too many black people speak, write and publish on topics they know way too little about. This is a waste of space. Slavery taught me nothing, just as it taught you nothing. Everything we have learned/appropriated/ gathered from, has happened post slavery, and by our own reasoning ability. The biggest lie of all is that slavery taught slaves anything. Reconstruction proved that most of the slaves believed non of that bs. Of course there will be some that will believe anything, this article..You need to ask yourself why you believe this garbage. I don't hate anybody, especially myself. Why would you paint everyone with the same thoughts and ideas and feelings? Do you think that we are not individuals who can logically conclude for ourselves? We worship how we want, who we want, not how you would have us to…move along, nothing to learn here…

  150. The rubber could have hit the road with this article had it identified some practicalitites….such as the name Jesus, Sunday church, the titles Lord and God and putting that finger in the air….

  151. Michie Boo says:

  152. Tony Masando says:

I grew up in Africa and raised by missionaries. I went to the best High School in the country. I was baptized with a Christian name but kept my traditional names and culture. Our forefathers prayed to the spirits and asked for protection against evil spirits (the devil) We did not see God as Black or White. but a spirit that gives blessings and called him Mwari/ Mulimu/God. We ask our departed spirits to ask the Most High for blessings. rain, good harvests and good luck. Check with Africans for facts not the press. Not everyone believed in the gospel but they still respected the Most High who lived above with our departed ancestors. These are facts from an African,

  153. Jay D Brown says:

If your religion came from a missionary it would be very hard to believe that there were no images of a white Jesus, the Saints or their angels. Missionaries destroy the culture of a people. I'm sorry you were raised by them. They are devils.

  154. Pam A Jack says:

Leonardo da Vinci's never met Jesus and was not alive when Jesus walk the earth . the white jesus is the Borgias lover. nowhere in the Bible did Jesus preach in European "romans " who Crucified him . Jesus was born in the land of color people ,flee to Africa (Egypt )because he blend in with the color people . keep praying to the God you want but remember God is a Jealous.

  155. Shawn Mosley says:

As far as history is concerned Jesus never exsisted it was all an invention of the Roman catholic church. If in fact he was invented by the europeans then his image is created as white just like those who invented him. This article want to make him black so that black people can keep on believing the lie. It makes you continue to embrace a religion that was created and forced upon africans and the rest of the world…It will blow your mind to understand that historically none of the characters in the bible exsisted. There is no grave sites or families that can be traced back to one of these so called characters who supposed to have lived 2000 years ago. But in egypt you have evidence of people who lived 5000 pluse years ago. Dont take my word for it study it out for your self.

  156. Ashley Maule says:

I want to learn more about what should be my true religion! Please tell me where can I learn more?

  157. Tony Masando says:

Jay D Brown It's all bout faith coz God is a Spirit just like our ancestors were belived to be influencing our lives. Whenever we had a draught, our elders would ask our ancestors to talk to God to give us rain. It's not a mandatory religion and entirely to the individual so stop barking.

  158. Tony Masando says:

Ashley Maule I am not sure how u can find out coz it realy depends on your beliefs, could be the existence of a Creator or just the the Bing Bang Theory. But I can share my convictions how I became a Christian if u don't mind. Feel free to retur back if u want. U can do a test on this site if u want.

  159. After 77 years, I'm still learning, and my mantra/prayer is that I may be allowed to continue my journey until my transition comes. Emperor Constantine is said/alleged to be the architect of the Mythical Trinity, taken loosely from the Osiran Drama (Ausar/Aset& Heru (child) and there is no exact time frame given to the Creation of the myth. Some scholors place the time, well beyond seven thousand years ago, and others go far beyond that! No, there's no evidence of the clear existance of Jesus of Nazerith(?), but I should add that we should Never argue with Believers because it doesn't make sense to engage in foolish/empty rhetoric about ANY Belief System! Black/Afrikan People are both Victim and Victimizers of Self and Kind through the acceptance/practice of the Religious beliefs of "other cultures", and there seems to be no let up on these beliefs/practices for the time being. Two Thousand Seasons, a book of fiction by Ayi Armah is a good and informative way to look back at our being torn away from from "Our Way" as he puts it, and we might learn from this book of fiction, a lot more "Truth" than we think we've achieved through All these "Holy Books" by cultures hostile to Our Very Existance!!! C Leon Bynum Jr

  160. Marc King says:

There is a lot to learn here.

  161. Marc King says:

    Hate? Ignore this man.

  162. Bryant says:

Amen I couldn’t say it better myself you took the words out of my mouth you express it the way I would have said it but couldn’t say it
