Bones” season 9, episode 22: “The Nail in the Coffin” airs tonight on Fox.

In this episode, The Jeffersonian team investigates the death of Stephanie McNamara, the daughter of a wealthy family whose remains were found in a national park. When the team digs deeper into the circumstances surrounding her death, clues from the case lead them to believe she may be the Ghost Killer’s latest victim, with a surprising connection to a previous victim. Meanwhile, the FBI Deputy Director takes a special interest in the team’s high-profile case and Booth’s career may be in for some changes.

Bones” is an American crime comedy-drama television series currently in its eighth season. It premiered on the Fox network on Sept. 13, 2005. The show is based on real-life forensic anthropologist and novelist Kathy Reichs’ Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), with each episode focusing on an FBI case file, concerning the mystery behind human remains brought by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).

“When the standard methods of identifying a body are useless – when the remains are so badly decomposed, burned or destroyed – law enforcement calls on Brennan ‘Bones’ for her uncanny ability to read clues left behind in the victim’s bones. While most people can’t handle Brennan’s intelligence, her drive for the truth or the way she flings herself headlong into every investigation is an exception.”

“Bones” season 9, episode 22 airs April 21, at 8 p.m. EST on Fox. Spoiler video below:
