Pharrell made an epic entrance over the weekend at “Holy Ship!”, one of the biggest electronic dance music events that takes place on a cruise that travels to a private island. Pharrell flew in via helicopter to debut his new collaboration with Major Lazer.
As reported by vibe.com:
“Oscar nominee Pharrell performed a new track during Holy Ship!, a three-day rave that set sail from Miami to The Bahamas at the beginning of January. Both Diplo and Pharrell were on the bill and the two decided to share a little new collaboration with the ravers in the crowd.
“Holy Ship! This is a brand new Pharrell – Major Lazer tune here,” Diplo said from behind the turntables about the track. No word on where it will appear.”
There is no telling if the record will be something for Major Lazer’s upcoming projects, or if this will be the start of Pharrell’s solo project. After having an extremely successful 2013 with songs like “Blurred Lines,” “Get Lucky” and “Happy,” Pharrell’s solo project is one of the most anticipated for 2014.
