Yesterday marked Jay Z’s 44th birthday, but Dec. 4 is another memorable day in hip-hop as it was the day that UGK rapper Pimp C died. In celebration of his birthday and remembering Pimp C, Jay Z released a remix to his hit single “Tom Ford,” which features an unreleased first from Pimp C.

“Although today is Jay Z’s 44th birthday, it also marks the anniversary of Pimp C’s death. There seems to be a good amount of Pimp C material left in the vault, and the celebration continues with an official remix to ‘Tom Ford.’ One of the many singles off ‘Magna Carta …Holy Grail,’ Hov decided to honor Sweet Jones and keep his name alive.”
Aside from the new “Tom Ford” remix, Hov also celebrated his birthday by ranking his 12 solo albums and starting a new vegan diet for 22 days with his wife Beyonce.
