Down Memory Lane: 9th Wonder Talks About Producing On Jay Z’s ‘The Black Album’

9th-wonder-black-albumTo celebrate the 10th anniversary of Jay Z’s The Black Album, Revolt TV shot a special featuring collaborators on the album. The show included interviews from long time producers including  Just Blaze, Pharrell and Timbaland, but it also includes 9th Wonder, who was a relatively new producer when the album debuted. According to missinfo.tv:

“As part of JAY Z’s The Black Album 10th Anniversary, REVOLT TV sat down with 9th Wonder to talk about his contribution to the record. Producing “Threats” for him, he recalls the day he went into the studio with DJ Clark Kent and Hov to record and how he played him 49 beats before Jay decided to give him a sample and have him flip it.

If you haven’t heard the story of how the track came about, sit down for story time with 9th Wonder as he walks you through the process on how he made history.”

The video is a good look into the creative process of both 9th Wonder and Jay Z.
