The Soul Train awards took place at the Orleans Center in Las Vegas last evening, presenting a glittering lineup of celebrities.
This year’s show paid homage to the soul soundtrack of the ’90s, allowing fans to reminisce on a decade of influential Black cinema and music. The night featured special moments and tributes and included a 1990’s hip-hop performance with Warren G, Dougie E. Fresh, and Big Daddy Kane
Comedian and actor Anthony Anderson hosted the event.
Presenters included Bill Bellamy, Boris Kodjoe, Vanessa A. Williams, Janelle Monae, Vivica A. Fox, Kandi Burruss, Michelle Williams, Vanilla Ice, Dolvett Quince, Mario Van Peebles, Raheem Devaughn, Nicole Ari Parker, George Benson, E-40, Larenz Tate, Hanif Carter, E!’s Alicia Quarles, Sommore and Vawn. Additionally, performers Chaka Khan, Doug E. Fresh, Evelyn “Champagne” King, Gladys Knight, Bobby V, Dave Koz, Jon B., Kenny Lattimore, Ruben Studdard, Warren G., Big Daddy Kane, and Stokley Williams.
The presenters introduced star-studded performances including those by Jennifer Hudson, Tamar Braxton, K. Michelle, Ron Isley, Wale, Eric Benet, Candice Glover, Chrisette Michele, Bobby Caldwell and Joss Stone.
