Rihanna has developed quite the reputation for arriving late to her concerts. Late last month the singer was booed when she walked on stage more than an hour late in Australia. Her fans in Israel didn’t boo during her October 22nd concert in Tel Aviv, but one wants the Israeli production company to pay for the Bajan beauty’s tardiness.
According to a class-action lawsuit, the lead plaintiff is “demanding reimbursement of one-third of his $96 ticket price and 13 $3.7 million in total damages on behalf of the entire ticket-buying audience.”
The lawsuit states that Rihanna didn’t take the stage until 10:10 p.m. Prior to her arrival, smaller acts filled the stage from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For over an hour, according to the plaintiff, “there was no music or other distractions for the audience.”
According to the production company they had no say in Rihanna’s late arrival.
“Unfortunately, the international singer came late to the performance,” it said in a statement. “We are sorry about this, but the Israeli production had no connection to the tardiness. We understand that there were those who were dissatisfied, but in our opinion the vast majority of the spectators enjoyed it very much.”
Reports of RihRih’s arrival in Israel and her dip in the Dead Sea are working against the production company. The lawsuit argues there was no reasonable justification for Rihanna’s tardiness, given news reports that claimed she had arrived in Israel the morning of the concert and her subsequent visit to the Dead Sea.
