Jennifer Hudson and Funny or Die have teamed up to highlight some ways that President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act can help people who don’t have health insurance.
Hudson played a character spoofed from Kerry Washington’s character in the ABC popular drama “Scandal,” at the same time explaining circumstances when the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, would come in handy.
In the sketch, Hudson is the Fixer and she’s looking for a scandal to get rid of, but all of the problems that come her way can easily be fixed with Obamacare.
“Can you please find me a real scandal?” Hudson begs from her handler. “All of these people’s issues can easily be fixed by the ACA.”
The sketch features a college graduate concerned he won’t have health insurance; a woman in need of a mammogram; an asthma victim who’s worried he’ll be dropped from his insurance because of a pre-existing condition; and a Senator whose pregnant mistress needs health insurance.
Obamacare has been the source of the current government shutdown, with Republicans shutting down the government in efforts to defund it.
Check out the parody, it’s pretty funny.
