Opening the Vault: Timbaland Previews Music From Pusha T, Drake and Jay Z

jay-z-timbaland-2Timbaland has been back on the music scene in a major way this year. The Virginia hit maker scored multiple successes with Justin Timberlake’s “20/20″ series of albums and Jay Z’s epic “Magna Carta” album. Now Timbo seems to be gearing up for his own project, as in the last 24 hours he’s previewed new music from Pusha T, Drake and Jay Z. According to missinfo.tv:

“Timbaland previewed a new record from the two rap heavyweights at Birmingham, England’s NIA Arena on Tuesday night. The producer played the piano-driven record during his DJ set, where Drake raps “I just got back home, 40 days on vacation. Know we killing the game, shit is all for the taking……..I’m a star in the making.” There’s currently no information as to where the record will eventually end up, safe guess to say Timbo’s new album.

“After previewing an unreleased Drake and Jay-Z collaboration, Timbaland teases us with another cut from the vault. First mentioned by Missy Elliott on Twitter back in January, Timbo the King lets off a snippet of “This Track Is Stoopid” featuring a verse from Pusha T. As the super-producer explains, the song was to feature a lot of artists from Virginia.”

Timbaland didn’t say much about the Jay Z and Drake collaboration, but he does mention that the Pusha T “This Track Is Stoopid” was recorded last year:

“This song didn’t make the cut from 2012, but featured a lot of artist from Virginia. There were many variations to this song, but here is a snippet.”

It’s uncertain whether Timbaland will release another album, but all this music being released now indicates that a new Timbo album could hit the airwaves as  early as next year.
