Bones” Season 9, Episode 4: “The Sense in the Sacrifice” airs tonight on Fox.

Summary of “The Sense in the Sacrifice”:

“Pelant is back, and the members of the Jeffersonian team want to put an end to the hold he’s had over them, once and for all. When a human cadaver is willed for research to the team, they devise a plan, with the help of Special Agent Hayes Flynn, to stage the human cadaver in a way that Pelant would stage a murder, and steal his spotlight in order to flush him out. But their plan backfires when Pelant is a step ahead of them, resulting in him killing someone close to Booth. Meanwhile, Sweets returns from his leave of absence and is convinced that Agent Flynn isn’t the person whom everyone thinks he is.”

Series description:

“Bones, a darkly amusing procedural currently in its eighth season, is inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist and novelist Kathy Reichs. Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is a highly skilled forensic anthropologist who works at the Jeffersonian Institute in Washington, D.C., and writes novels on the side. When the standard methods of identifying a body are useless (when the remains are so badly decomposed, burned or destroyed), law enforcement calls on Brennan for her uncanny ability to read clues left behind in the victim’s bones. While most people can’t handle Brennan’s intelligence, her drive for the truth or the way she flings herself headlong into every investigation, Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) of the FBI’s Homicide Investigations Unit is an exception. A former Army sniper, Booth mistrusts science and scientists – the “squints”, as he calls them – who pore over the physical evidence of a crime. But even he cannot deny that the combination of his people-smarts and Brennan’s scientific acumen makes them a formidable duo.”

“Bones” Season 9 Episode 4 “The Sense in the Sacrifice” airs Monday, October 7, at 8:00PM on Fox.
