Two New Clips For ‘Captain Phillips’ Released Online

Two new clips of the Paul Greengrass directed drama, “Captain Phillips,”  starring Tom Hanks, have been posted online courtesy of Columbia Pictures.

Captain Phillips hits movie screens Oct. 11. It tells the true story of Capt. Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking of the U.S.-flagged MV Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates equipped with AK-47 assault rifles and two speedboats. It was the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in 200 years.

The screen play for Captain Phillips is based upon the book, “A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea,” authored by Phillips with Stephan Talty.

In addition to Hanks, the movie stars Catherine Keener, Max Martini, Yul Vazquez, Michael Chernus, Chris Mulkey, Corey Johnson, David Warshofsky, John Magaro and Angus MacInne.
