News just broke that Director Roland Emmerich has his sights set on “Fruitvale Station” and “Chronicle” star, Michael B. Jordan, for a major role in 20th Century Fox’s “Independence Day 2.”
According to The Wrap, the actor “has met with director Roland Emmerich and is highly regarded on the Fox lot.” Jordan has not received an offer yet and official casting, they say, is not expected to happen until closer to the holidays.
Jordan is pretty hot in Hollywood coming off his performance in “Fruitvale Station,” a performance that has acquired significant Oscar buzz. Jordan is also being sought to play The Human Torch in Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot as well.
If the “Independence Day 2” deal goes through, it’s a possibility that Jordan could be teaming up with Will Smith.
