The iHeartRadio Music Festival welcomed two of the heaviest hitters in the biz this weekend. Justin Timberlake was headliner, but before he came out, Drake gave fans a 20-minute performance of songs off his upcoming, “Nothing Was The Same” and last album, “Take Care.” According to vibe.com:
“With the tour for his third LP, Nothing Was the Same, just around the corner, Drake warmed up at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Drizzy opened up his set with the ballad-y Take Care track ‘Crew Love’ before unleashing some of his new songs like — ‘All Me,’ ‘Hold On We’re Going Home’ and ‘Started From the Bottom.” Drake took the stage and told the crowd “I came here for the party.”
JT then closed out the show, giving fans classic Timberlake favorites, and also performing new music off of his upcoming album, “The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2.” According to usatoday.com:
“Introduced by boxer Floyd Mayweather (who’d won $200,000 betting on Texas A&Mearlier in the day) as ‘the heavyweight champion of music,’ Timberlake lived up to his advance billing, closing the show with a musically ambitious set that was double the length of several others and ended well past 1 a.m.
“Backed by a 15-piece band that created a massive barrage of sound with two drummers and four horn players, Timberlake debuted a pair of songs from his forthcoming The 20/20 Experience — 2 of 2 album, ‘True Blood’ and ‘Only When I Walk Away.'”
Drake’s “Nothing Was The Same” album is set for official release tomorrow, although it has been widely leaked on the Internet over the past week. Drizzy is also gearing up for a tour to accommodate the album.
Justin’s “The 20/20 Experience — 2 of 2” will be released on September 27, and is Justin’s second album of this year.
