All Eyez on Me: Tupac 17 Years Later, Still Relevant

It’s hard to believe it’s been 17 years since the music community lost one of its greats, yet today marks the anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s  untimely death. The rap legend may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. According to mtv.com:

“Friday (September 13) marks the 17th anniversary of the day the Thug Life MC was fatally shot at the age of 25 after attending a Mike Tyson heavyweight championship fight in Las Vegas. And although that tragic event robbed hip-hop of one of its most promising and revered stars, Pac’s indelible influence can still be felt in rap culture today. In fact, 2013 was a pretty big year for him.”

Tupac’s influence can still be seen in today’s music. From Rick Ross to Lil Wayne to Young Jeezy and many others, they all embody the spirit of Tupac to make their careers into what they are today.

Proving that he’s still relevant, Tupac’s life story will be told in a Broadway play later this year.

In tribute to the late great Pac, revolt.tv put together a short video in his honor.
