Yeezus is still in season. Although Kanye West has been quiet since the release of his Yeezus album, probably because of the birth of his first child, he seems to be back on the scene again. Last week Kanye announced that he’ll be doing a Yeezus tour and he will be accompanied by rapper Kendrick Lamar. In promotion of the new tour, Kanye performed his new single “Bound 2″ on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon show, where he was assisted by Charlie Wilson and the Roots band.
The entire performance was reportedly impromptu. West “dropped in” on The Jimmy Fallon Show, but when you’re Yeezus, your unexpected presence is always welcomed. ‘Ye also took some time to put his girlfriend Kim Kardashian’s ex, Ray ,J in his place as well.
According to MTV.com:
“Kanye didn’t disappoint. In his first-ever performance on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ (as well as the live debut of the song), Ye let Wilson do the singing first, as the Gap band legend was in fine voice on the opening hook, ‘I know you’re tired of loving, of loving’ over majestic piano backing.
“Moments later, the Roots kicked in full force, along with a six-voice children’s chorus, as West leaned into the song’s reworked-for-TV opening bridge. In those lines, he took a not-so-subtle jab at his girlfriend Kim Kardashian’s ex, Ray J, with a biting new couplet. ‘Brandy’s little sister lame, man, he know it now,’ he rapped. ‘When a real brother hold you down you supposed to drown.'”
