Something’s Shady: Eminem’s New ‘Berzerk’ Video and Awkward Interview

Eminem is joining all the rap elites who released album this season by dropping “The Marshall Mathers LP 2.” Slim Shady has already released a few songs from MMLP2, most notably the single “Berzerk” this weekend to promote the album. Eminem joined ESPN’s “Saturday Night Football” crew to talk about the album and give viewers a sneak peek of the video.

Eminem seemed quite uneasy during the interview, according to vibe.com:

“Things got a little awkward during his live interview with announcers Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit, who premiered the trailer for the ‘Berzerk’ music video, officially dropping on Monday, Sept. 9. While the video preview hinted at appearances from Rick Rubin, Kendrick Lamar and Slaughterhouse, it’s Em’s video interview that’s making headlines.

“When asked what he was most excited about on his new LP, Em awkwardly replied, ‘Um, nothing. No, when it’ll be out Nov. 5, I’ll probably be most excited to be done with it. It’s called Marshall Mathers II. It’s kind of a revisit to the first Marshall Mathers album?'”

Eminem answered quite matter-of-factly, then went on to talk  about Brent Musberger being in an ‘announcer fantasy hall of fame.’ Although the interview was a little weird, we’re guessing that was Shady’s attempt at humor. After all he’s been doing these types of promotional events for almost 15 years now, he probably just feels more comfortable making music.
