Denver Broncos, Peyton Manning Clobber Baltimore Ravens

Peyton Manning had touchdown fever Thursday night in the Denver Broncos season opening against the Baltimore Ravens. The veteran quarterback threw seven touchdowns in their lopsided 49-27 win over the defending Super Bowl Champions.

His performance earned him another place in NFL history, as he became the sixth quarterback in NFL history to ever throw seven touchdowns in a single game.

“It’s a huge achievement, and he was just so nonchalant about doing seven touchdowns like it was nothing,” Broncos receiver Welker said. “It was pretty cool to be a part of it.”

Manning threw a pair of touchdowns to tight end Julius Thomas, wide receivers Wes Welker and Demaryius Thomas, and a single strike to wide-out Andre Caldwell.

“So I don’t know. You never know what’s going to happen in a game. I felt like we had to keep scoring,” Manning said.
