Multimillionaire rapper/mogul Jay-Z talked to BBC radio about the racism he experienced when he tried to buy a home in 2009 in the Tribeca area of New York City.
“My neighbors didn’t want me in the building. It was a whole big thing; it was really racist. They didn’t want me in, so I bought the biggest place there.”
He continued, “I guess they think I’m having parties and there’s shootings going on, but I have normal breakfasts and lunches. My friends come over – accountants and bankers.”
Billionaire Oprah Winfrey, may be one of the world’s richest women, but she said she was a victim of racial profiling this summer at the Trois Pommes boutique in Zurich, Switzerland, when a store clerk refused to show her an expensive handbag.
