Jay Z’s Made In America festival was one of the largest rap concerts in the U.S. last year. The star-studded event took place in Philadelphia and even featured an appearance by President Obama. This year, the concert will be on Labor Day weekend with another celebrity line-up including Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz and Nine Inch Nails, to name a few.
A week after the second annual event, Jay Z and director Ron Howard are releasing a documentary about the first Made In America event, to be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.
As reported by vibe.com:
“Just one week after Jay Z’s second all-star ‘Made in America’ festival on August 31, director Ron Howard will premiere his documentary of the rapper’s first annual event in 2012. Co-produced by Hov, the ‘Made In America’ documentary will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Sept. 7.”
The documentary will be told through the eyes of Jay Z and will probably include some great behind-the-scene moments, as his documentaries often do.
Check out the trailer for this year’s Made In America festival below. (It could actually be the trailer for the documentary because the footage is from last year’s performances.)
